Today the wait for voting in the great festival of democracy is over. Voting for the first phase has started today (Friday) for 102 Lok Sabha seats in 21 states and union territories. Today is not only a time of examination for 1625 candidates, but it is also a test for 16.63 crore voters that they should not let their enthusiasm cool down even in the scorching heat and vote as much as possible.

 

In this first phase of elections, the fate of eight Union Ministers, two former Chief Ministers, and one former Governor will also be decided. Along with this, voting will also be held for the assembly in Arunachal Pradesh (60 seats) and Sikkim (32 seats). The Election Commission has deployed 18 lakh employees to conduct the first phase of elections peacefully. Along with this, a large number of security personnel have also been deployed.

 

 

Out of the 21 states and union territories included in the first phase, there are 10 states and union territories in which voting will be held on all the seats. Of these, a maximum of 39 seats are from Tamil Nadu alone. Apart from this, five seats of Uttarakhand are included. The popular seats for which voting will be held in the first phase include Nagpur, Chhindwara, Pilibhit, Chennai South, Chennai Central  Coimbatore etc. In the first phase, 35.67 lakh voters will cast their votes for the first time. Apart from this, the number of young voters in the age group of 20-29 years is 3.51 crore.

 

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, UPA won 45 out of these 102 seats and NDA won 41 seats. Of these, six seats have been reorganized after delimitation. Last time there was 67.4 percent voting in the Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission has also appealed to the people to come out to vote as much as possible. Extensive arrangements have been made for this. Let us tell you that the voting process, which will be completed in seven phases, will be completed on June 1 and the results will be declared on June 4.

 

Election Commission on alert mode

The first phase of elections is a big challenge for the political parties as well as the Election Commission because these include all the sensitive seats including Bastar, where polling parties are reached with great difficulty. This is the reason why the Commission has put its control room in active mode with the departure of the polling parties. With the safe arrival of polling parties in these areas, information related to all the seats of the first phase is being updated every moment. This control room will work day and night for the next 36 hours.

 

The spirit of Indian voters will beat the heat

Election Commissioner Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar in his video message released to the voters appealed to vote as much as possible. Also said that this was an opportunity when him can show his strength. He said that his team has been working continuously for the last two years to conduct the elections safely.

 

Complete arrangements have been made to ensure that voters do not face any kind of difficulty. The heat is a bit of a challenge during this time but it is expected that the spirit of Indian voters will overcome the challenge like heat.

Voting on four seats in the first phase in Bihar

Voting will be held here in Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada , and Jamui. There are 38 candidates in the fray for these four seats. In 2019, there was 53.60 percent voting on all four seats. BJP got one seat, JDU got one and LJP got two seats.

 

Voting on all seats in Uttarakhand

Voting for all five parliamentary seats will conclude on Friday. In 2019, there was 58.87 percent voting in Tehri Garhwal, 55.17 in Garhwal, 52.31 in Almora, 68.97 in Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar, and 69.18 percent in Haridwar. In 2019, all the seats were won by BJP.

 

Voting on Udhampur seat of Jammu and Kashmir

Voting is taking place today in Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency in Jammu and Kashmir. More than 16 lakh voters will decide the future of 12 candidates. BJP has been in control here twice, before that this seat was in the account of Congress twice. In 2019, 71.01 percent of voting took place here. Earlier in 2014, the voting percentage was 70.91 percent. In the year 2019, BJP candidate Dr. Jitendra Singh defeated Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh.

 

No mobile network at 268 centers in Rajasthan

114 candidates are in the fray for 12 out of 25 parliamentary seats in the first phase. Voting will be held here - Jaipur City, Jaipur Rural, Dausa, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Nagaur, Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Bikaner, Alwar and Ajmer. There are a total of 268 polling stations in the state where there is no mobile network.

 

By including these polling stations in the list of communication shadows, a special police team will be deployed here. They will have wireless sets, which will monitor every election-related activity and report it to the control room. In 2019, out of 12 seats, BJP was victorious on 11 and RLP was victorious on one.

 

The political future of Kamal Nath-Faggan Singh Kulaste will be decided in Madhya Pradesh

88 candidates are in the fray for the six seats of the first phase - Sidhi, Shahdol, Mandla, Balaghat, Jabalpur, and Chhindwara. Voting in Naxal-affected areas of Balaghat will end two hours earlier at 4 pm. In this phase, the reputation of Congress leader Kamal Nath and Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste is at stake.

 

 

Kulaste himself is a candidate from the Mandla seat while Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath is in the fray from Chhindwara. Last time there was 62.27 percent voting on these seats. A maximum of 82.39 percent of votes were cast in Chhindwara. In 2019, Chhindwara was the only seat out of 29 on which Congress won.
