Due to heavy rain in UAE, more than 30 flights operating between India and Dubai had to be canceled on Tuesday and Wednesday. These include flights from Air India, Air India Express, Indigo, Emirates, and Spice Jet Airlines.
An Air India spokesperson said that the airline is trying to accommodate the affected passengers on other flights in the next few days and reach their destination as soon as possible. Also, the airline is providing one-time change date flexibility to passengers holding tickets valid for April 16 and 17 so that they can reschedule their flights on future dates within the validity period of the ticket.
Air India operates 72 flights a week to Dubai from various cities in the country. An official said that on Wednesday, 10 flights from Delhi Airport to Dubai and nine incoming flights were canceled. An Air India Express spokesperson said that three of its UAE flights were delayed on both days and seven flights had to be canceled.
The airline has given the affected passengers the option of a full refund and free rescheduling. IndiGo said that it had to cancel 13 flights to and from Dubai on Wednesday. It requested passengers to look for alternative flight options or request a full refund.
