The Ministry of Education decided to cancel UGC NET June 2024 on Thursday night. The exam was canceled due to irregularities in the examination. The central government has announced to conduct the examination afresh.

The government has also decided that the CBI will investigate the irregularities in the examination. This exam was held on June 18 itself and more than 11 lakh students participated. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the organization conducting the examination, claimed that it was completed.

Why was the exam canceled?

After the cancellation of the exam, the question in the minds of the people was why the government suddenly had to take such a big decision. The Ministry of Education informed that the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Cyber Crime Coordination Center (14C) of the Ministry of Home Affairs informed about the irregularities in the examination.

After the information came to light through the input, to make the transparency and sanctity of the examination, the government decided to cancel the exam and conduct the exam again.

Criminals will get tremendous punishment

The biggest question is what punishment will be given to those due to whom the paper was leaked or the criminals due to whom the time of the students was wasted.

Let us tell you that to take strict action against the criminals who leak the papers of examinations like NET-UGC UPSC, SSC, Railway Recruitment, and Banking, the Modi government has made an anti-paper law, which has been named Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024. This law was passed in February this year.

According to the law, after being found guilty in a paper leak case, a person can be sentenced to 10 years and fined Rs 1 crore.

If found guilty in the case of taking the exam in place of another candidate, the criminal will be jailed for 3 to 5 years and a fine of Rs 10 lakh will also be imposed.

Apart from this, if the name of any institute comes up in the case of irregularities in the examination, then the entire cost of the examination will be recovered from that institute. At the same time, the property of the institute can also be confiscated.
