LokSabha Election: 280 candidates are first-time MPs, including artists, former CMs, and former judges

The results of the Lok Sabha elections have been announced. This time, 280 candidates have reached the Parliament for the first time. These include former Chief Ministers, film stars, political activists, and a former High Court judge.

 

There are 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. This time 45 candidates have reached the Parliament for the first time from here. These include TV artist Arun Govil, Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma, and Azad Samaj Party leader Chandrashekhar Azad from Nagina seat. At the same time, 33 candidates from Maharashtra have reached the Parliament for the first time. These include BJP's Piyush Goyal from Mumbai North, Congress leader Balwant Wankhede from Amravati, and BJP leader Anoop Dhotre from Akola.

 

Former chief ministers who have reached Parliament for the first time include Narayan Rane (Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Maharashtra), Trivendra Singh Rawat (Haridwar, Uttarakhand), Manohar Lal (Karnal, Haryana), Biplab Kumar Deb (Tripura West, Tripura), Jitan Ram Manjhi (Gaya, Bihar), Basavaraj Bommai (Haveri, Karnataka), Jagdish Shettar (Belgaum, Karnataka), Charanjit Singh Channi (Jalandhar, Punjab).

 

Artists who have reached Parliament for the first time include Suresh Gopi and Kangana Ranaut.

 

Rajya Sabha members Anil Desai (Shiv Sena UBT), Bhupendra Yadav, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mansukh Mandaviya and Purushottam Rupala have also reached the Lok Sabha for the first time.

 

Members of former royal families who have reached Parliament for the first time include Chhatrapati Shahu (Kolhapur), Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar (Mysore) and Kriti Devi Debbarman (Tripura East).

 

At the same time, former judge of Kolkata High Court Abhijit Gangopadhyay has reached Parliament for the first time from Talmukkad Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal.
