Operation Amritpal: Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal caught along with six accomplices, internet shut down in Punjab till tomorrow

On Saturday, the Punjab Police took Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh into custody along with six of his associates in connection with the attack on Ajnala police station. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet. The Internet has been suspended in many districts of Punjab till Sunday afternoon. According to sources, the arrest of Amritpal did not disturb the atmosphere, so net services have been stopped.

 

On the other hand, Moga's SSP J Elenchelian says that Amritpal has not been arrested yet, the operation is going on in search of him. Earlier, six associates of Amritpal Singh were detained near the Mahatpur area of Jalandhar. During this, Amritpal himself escaped from the police. Police chased Amritpal and according to sources, he was nabbed from Nakodar. At the same time, the police are also after Amritpal's associate Bhagwant Singh Bajeke alias Prime Minister. Sources said that he may be arrested in a while.

 

Punjab Police has appealed to all citizens to maintain peace. Police tweeted – All citizens are requested to maintain peace and harmony. Punjab Police is working to maintain law and order. Citizens are requested not to panic and not spread fake news or hate speech.

 

Earlier, the function of Amritpal kept at Rampura Phool in Bathinda was also canceled. Amritpal was to reach there at 9:30 but when he did not reach, it was announced to cancel the program from the stage.

Varinder Singh of Chamkaur Sahib in Rupnagar district complained of kidnapping and assault on 30 of his supporters, including Lovepreet Singh and Amritpal, after which Lovepreet and another accused were arrested. One of the accused had already been released by the police, but to release Lovepreet, Amritpal had warned of a sit-in outside the police station. Amritpal along with his supporters reached the police station with the holy form of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. When the police tried to stop him, the furious mob broke the barricades and attacked the police station with swords and guns, injuring six policemen including the SP.
