The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday allowed the Election Commission (ECP) to proceed against the country's former prime minister Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry in cases related to contempt of the poll body. In a separate case, the Election Commission of Pakistan warned PTI leaders that arrest warrants would be issued against them if they did not appear before the commission on January 17 to face contempt proceedings, according to Pakistani newspaper Dawn. . A four-member bench of the Election Commission heard the matter on Tuesday. Apart from this, the Election Commission is also conducting a hearing against Imran in the Toshakhana case.
