PM Modi-Para Athletes: 'You are our brand ambassador', said para-athletes during their meeting with Prime Minister Modi

After creating history in the Paris Paralympic Games, the Indian team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. During this, PM Modi talked a lot with the para-athletes. He also laughed and joked with them. Also shared the experience with the coach of the players. The Prime Minister asked the athletes and Paralympians about their experience in the Paralympics. Para athletes also shared some interesting stories. Its video has also surfaced. PM Modi also encouraged the players. During this, para-athletes and coaching staff have described PM Modi as their brand ambassador. During this, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and PCI President Devendra Jhajharia were also present with PM Modi.

 

Indian athletes returned to the country on Tuesday after winning a record 29 medals in the Paris Paralympics. India won 29 medals including seven gold, nine silver, and 13 bronze in the Paris Paralympics. India broke the record of the Tokyo Paralympics. In Tokyo, India won 19 medals and the country finished 24th in the medal tally, while in Paris India finished 18th. This time India had landed in Paris with a target of crossing 25 and achieved it.

 

This time India sent the largest contingent of 84 players to Paris. Since returning to the country, the Paralympians have been honored by the government. Sports Minister Mandaviya has given Rs 75 lakh to the gold medal winners, Rs 50 lakh to the silver winners, and Rs 30 lakh to the athletes who won bronze medals in the Games. Those who excelled in mixed team events were honored with Rs 22.5 lakh. These include archer Sheetal Devi, who won a bronze medal with Rakesh Kumar.
