The Karnataka government gave a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the father of Manoj Kumar, a young man who died in a stampede in Bangalore during the celebration of Royal Challengers Bangalore's victory in IPL. Manoj's father Devraj broke down after receiving the compensation cheque. He said that I had been given a cheque of Rs 25 lakh, but my son would not come back. Devraj said that I would not use this money for myself but for my daughter's future.

11 people died in a stampede during the celebration program of IPL winner RCB on June 4 in Bangalore. Manoj Kumar was also among those who died. Tumkur Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Shubh Kalyan said that the father of the deceased Manoj Kumar has been given an ex-gratia amount of Rs 25 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The DM said that Manoj's father had many dreams for him. He was a topper and had scored more than 85 percent marks in SSLC. He had to go abroad for a job. But the father's dreams could not be fulfilled.

CM had announced compensation.

Earlier, CM Siddaramaiah had announced to give Rs 25 lakh as compensation to the families of the deceased in the Bangalore stampede case. At the same time, Home Minister G. Parameshwara says that after the investigation, everything will be known as to who said what. Who gave what statements when and when.

CM blamed the officials for the incident.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has blamed the officials for the stampede. He said, 'This was an unfortunate incident, it should not have happened. Such an incident has never happened after I became the Chief Minister. Prima facie it seems that this has happened due to the mistake of the officials, so we have taken action. Everyone including me is sad.' The Chief Minister further said that he had attended the felicitation ceremony of the RCB team in front of Vidhana Soudha at the invitation of the Secretary and Treasurer of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).
