There was news about Shahid Kapoor's film 'Jersey' last day that the makers have extended the release date of the film. This news was quite shocking as Shahid and the film's actress Mrunal Thakur started promoting Jersey and were also seen at many events. Meanwhile, suddenly the film was postponed just three days before its release, leading to speculation that the makers have taken this decision fearing 'KGF 2' and 'Beast'. Talking on which Shahid Kapoor has given a different reason for extending the release date of 'Jersey'.
On the postponement of Jersey, Shahid Kapoor told India Today, "We have thought about it well. Everyone thinks he is very intelligent. That day is a big holiday. A lot of films may release on a holiday. And I think 'Beast' has a very different audience to a large extent. 'KGF' is also an action film. And we have a family film. So the genres are very different. So we think it's okay."
Let us tell you, this week two big films of South 'Beast' and 'KGF 2' are being released. While Pooja Hegde and Vijay's 'Beast' was released a day before 'Jersey', Yash's 'KGF 2' with Jersey was to release on April 14. But Somvar was stated by the film's producer Aman Gill saying, "As a team, we have also put our blood and sweat into this. So we would also like this film to reach most people in the world. Hence 'Jersey'." Will now release on April 22."
The Shahid Kapoor film was earlier scheduled to release in theaters on December 31 last year. But due to the third wave of Kovid-19, the filmmakers postponed the release date of the movie. Now after the situation becomes normal, this film of Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur was to be released in theaters on April 14. But Jersey will now hit the theaters on April 22.
