Kane Williamson Covid-19 Positive: The second Test match between England and New Zealand is to be played from today i.e. June 10 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Before this match, bad news has come out for the Kiwi team. Captain Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the second Test after being found COVID-19 positive. New Zealand coach Gary Stead has confirmed this. Hamish Rutherford has been included in the squad as a replacement for Kane Williamson. Tom Latham will lead the team in Williamson's absence.
New Zealand had to face defeat by 5 wickets in the first Test of the three-match Test series. The Kiwis are trailing 0-1 after suffering a loss at the Lord's Test.
The coach added, "It's a shame Kane Williamson's forced to exit on the eve of such an important match. We all feel for him at the moment and know how disappointed he will be. Hamish will be back with the Test team on the first tour. Was and is playing for Leicestershire Fox in Vitality T20 Blast."
After being found Kovid positive, Kane Williamson will now be in isolation for 5 days as per the rules.
