The film is based on the Hindu Ramayana, which depicts the victory of good over evil.

Om Raut had already told that the film will show the victory of good over evil. Releasing the poster of Prabhas, he wrote in the caption, 'The ocean of gusto of gallantry, the gag of spilling vatsalya. Lord Shri Ram was born, every Jan Ghar Nagar danced with a swing.' Prabhas is seen as Shri Ram in the poster.
