It was a long time ago when some friends of us together came up with the idea of ​​setting up a small stall outside our school. We, small children of 12 years old, could only set up a stall of fruit chaat. Since we were very serious about this, we also took permission from the Principal to set up the stall at lunchtime. I remember very well that four of us together collected our pocket money and collected a total deposit of 40 rupees (this was a good amount in those days). We went to the vegetable market and bought bananas, sweet potatoes, lemons, cucumbers, apples, pineapple, and some grapes. We brought things like knives, clean clothes to wipe hands, buckets of water to wash fruits, chaat masala, salt, toothpicks, dona-pattals and we used cardboard boxes as garbage cans. was.

 

We had also put a small notice on the school notice board a day ago about the stall. To run the work smoothly, all the work was divided amongst themselves. We had also built a cash counter where a taffy box was used for the cashbox. After a little hard work and wait, the response from our customers has been amazing. Within half an hour, the entire sale was done and a total of Rs 60 was accumulated i.e. profit of Rs 20. Each of our stakeholders earned five rupees by investing 10 rupees, that too in just half an hour. Yes, the preparation took some extra time. This was my first experience as an entrepreneur and I remember it well even after decades.

 

Best this business: It's World Food Safety Day. The World Health Organization has set its theme as 'Safe Food Now for a Healthy Tomorrow' and the slogan 'Food Safety is Everyone's Business. The point is accurate and there is a very effective business mantra hidden in it. In my opinion, the food-related enterprise is the best, in which you can earn 50 to 100 percent profit. You can reach the pinnacle of this business by using safe methods, hygiene habits, and fine hygienic raw materials. Throughout my travels abroad, I have seen many small stalls selling fish or chips or people selling hotdogs in exquisitely hand-crafted hand carts. It will be seen in almost every street of England, the only difference was in presentation and style, which is also commendable. A similar trend is being seen in India today as well. I remember that in South Delhi I had seen many moving shops of Chinese food. There are many such food outlets in attractively painted vintage trucks and freight cars. The food there was not only delicious but also reasonable for the price. You can also pack and take food. This is a great way to do business. You have to invest only in raw material in the morning and till evening the profit amount is in your hands.

 

Chhoti Shop Fantastic Cuisine: There is only one mantra for success that if your food is good then people will come to eat many miles away by queuing outside your stall. There is a bakery in Pune, where the owner of the shop starts his sales at noon and all his things are sold out by 7 pm. Similarly, every day several kilograms of Hyderabadi Biryani satiates the hunger of its fans. One cannot forget the Keventer Milk Shop located in the interior of Connaught Place. The way hundreds of bottles of milk come out of that small door every hour, it seems that there is a well of milk inside that shop. Similarly, in Pune, a person selling Vada-Pav on a hand cart used to sell hundreds of plates of Vada-Pav in a day. This sale was so much that the Income Tax Department got suspicious after counting the empty plates lying in the garbage cans there and due to excessive income, he was also raided! There is a very famous chaat wala shop outside the UPSC office in Delhi. This small shop called Prabhu Chaat Wala which started many years ago is a landmark today. Its sales are so tremendous that the owner of that shop earns enough daily. ...and even if it is not, its chaat is so great all over Delhi that cars of big top executives and entrepreneurs come and stop there so that they too can get the 'prasad' of 'Prabhu'.

 

That meeting was special: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also hinted to explain the same thing in just one sentence that 'You can earn a lot just by selling pakodas!' I sometimes get a little hurt and fed up when Some people start making jokes that there is talk of becoming a pakodewala in the name of work. They want a job but don't want to work. I will tell my own experience related to this. Once I was in the office of Bloomsbury Publishers in connection with my book, where I suddenly met Chef Vikas Khanna. Vikas of a very spontaneous nature was also present there in connection with finalizing the cover of his upcoming book. My publisher arranged a lunch for us where I got a chance to talk to Chef Vikas. His personality was full of Punjabi warmth and there was no formality between us. Where he told how he used to sell chole-bhature at the street vendors in his house in Amritsar. There he used to have counting utensils and he used to help his father in washing them quickly so that no customer would leave when he was late.

 

Give right direction to thinking: It is simple if you have thinking and you get education in the right direction then you too can become 'Pakoda King'. McDonald's started with just one outlet and was later scaled up by businessman Ray Kroc. Not only this, you will be surprised to know that according to the report in 2019, McDonald's had 38,695 restaurants worldwide, which has increased to more than 40,000 today, with a total turnover of US $ 21 billion. Profit of 9 billion US dollars every year! So let your mind's horses run. This is not the time to make fun of an idea. At least not of your own Prime Minister, who has shown you the way to earn money. Don't spread your hand in front of anyone for a job. A small change can take you to the height of the sky. After all, this heart demands more and more!

 

The river of taste got the edge: In 1991, Chef Vikas Khanna did a course in Hotel Management from the WelcomeGroup Graduate School of Manipal Academy of Higher Education and today he works in reputed hotel branches like Taj Hotels, Oberoi Hotels, Welcome Group, and Leela Group of Hotels have done. Food delivery app Zomato registered 5.5 times growth during the pandemic. As of October 2020, Zomato had completed more than nine crore orders after the lockdown was imposed.

 

According to the report released by Swiggy, the most ordered was Chicken Biryani, followed by Veg Biryani.
