Because of the fear in various countries, the World Health Organization has called an emergency meeting on Friday. At the same time, Australia has said to investigate it.
Britain had warned about this variant earlier as well. In this, 32 mutations were found in Botswana and the effect of the vaccine was less on them. Now Australia has also announced to test this new variant. Australia has even said that if the threat increases, it can also impose travel restrictions on African countries.
It is worth noting that because of this new variant, Britain has banned flying in six countries of Africa. It has been said from the UK that the new variant B.1.1.529 has a spike protein that is different from the original form of the coronavirus.
South African scientists have said on the new variant that it is more infected. Australian Health Minister Greg Hunt said that we are quite flexible about this. If medical advice has to be changed, we will not hesitate. As a country, if borders have to be closed or people need to be quarantined, it will be done.
Significantly, Britain has already imposed travel bans on African countries South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesitho, and Esvetini. Britain has also announced to quarantine the citizens coming back from here. UK officials say that this variant reduces the effect of the corona vaccine. The World Health Organization says that it is currently watching and trying to understand it.
