Vaccination of 15-18 years old crosses 5 crores: 67% of adolescents have received the first dose of vaccine, the government gave information in Rajya Sabha

In India, 50 million adolescents between the ages of 15 and 18 have been given the first dose of the corona vaccine. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has given this information in Rajya Sabha. The Health Minister told the Rajya Sabha that about 67% of adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years have been vaccinated so far.

 

Decision soon on vaccination of children below 15 years

During the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha, the Health Minister said that the decision on vaccination for those below the age of 15 years will be taken after getting the consent of the expert. For this, the government is continuously making efforts. A decision will be taken on this soon. Children are feeling unsafe due to delays in vaccination.

 

5 crore vaccines were taken in 37 days

The corona vaccination campaign for adolescents of 15 to 18 years started on 3 January 2022 and under this campaign, 50 million adolescents have been given the first dose of vaccine in just 37 days. In contrast, when the Corona Vaccination Campaign of Adults started on 16 January 2021, it took about 42 days to achieve the target of 50 million vaccinations.

 

The total vaccination figure in the country is close to 175 crores

If we talk about the data of corona vaccination in India, then till now about 170 crores 77 lakh 65 thousand 220 people have got corona vaccine in the country. Of these, 95 crores 35 lakh 80 thousand 976 people have been given the first dose and 73 crores 92 lakh 42 thousand 457 people have been given the second dose. Today, a total of 50 lakh 20 thousand 150 people have been given corona vaccine in the country, in which 19 lakh 21 thousand 300 people are 15 to 18 years old.
