On Tuesday, the water level of the Yamuna River on Delhi's old railway bridge has once again risen above the danger mark to reach 205.39 meters. According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) data, the water level is witnessing a steady rise, crossing the danger mark of 205.33 meters to 205.39 meters at 10 pm on Tuesday.
Due to heavy rains in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, there has been a rapid rise in the water level of the river. The water level on the old railway bridge was 204.94 meters at 6 pm. According to CWC, the water level of Yamuna crossed the warning level at 3 pm in Delhi and the water level became 204.57 meters. The 'alert' level is 204.5 meters.
There was an outcry due to floods in July
Delhi faced severe flooding in mid-July due to heavy rainfall in the capital and the mountains. On July 13, the Yamuna River rose to a record 208.66 meters, breaking previous records as well.
