Mihir Shah, the prime accused in the BMW hit-and-run case that killed a 45-year-old woman in Mumbai, has made a big confession. Mihir admitted that he is addicted to drinking alcohol. 24-year-old Mihir Shah made this confession during police interrogation after his arrest.

Several teams were formed to catch Mihir, who was missing for three days after the accident. The police tracked Mihir to an apartment in Virar, about 65 km from Mumbai. Mihir is the son of politician Rajesh Shah, a member of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction. A dozen people, including Shah's parents and two sisters, are in custody.

The police caught Mihir when one of his friends turned on his phone for 15 minutes. On July 6, Mihir Shah was reportedly driving his BMW after partying for hours with friends at a Juhu bar. He allegedly hit a couple at around 5.30 am on Sunday. The woman killed in the accident was Kaveri Nakhwa, a 45-year-old mother of two.

Woman's body dragged for 1.5 km

CCTV footage shows Nakhwa being dragged for 1.5 km after the collision. Police said the footage also shows Shah pulling the woman's body out from under the car and leaving it on the road before fleeing.
