The suffocating air in Delhi-NCR is making life difficult for people. Regarding the air pollution issue, the Supreme Court has stated that it will hear the matter on a regular basis. The Supreme Court clarified that merely hearing the matter formally around Diwali is not appropriate.
On Monday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear the matter related to the increasing air pollution in Delhi-NCR. This matter was mentioned by the amicus, a lawyer appointed by the court. Due to the urgency of the situation in Delhi-NCR, an early hearing was requested.
The problem has been identified: CJI
Commenting on the entire matter, the CJI asked, "What magic wand can the judiciary use to tell us? What order can we pass today to clean the air?" The CJI stated, "We will hear the matter. The problem has been identified."
'There are many reasons for pollution in Delhi'
The CJI stated that there are many reasons behind pollution in Delhi-NCR; it is not caused by a single factor. Only domain experts can determine the multiple causes, and if there are multiple causes, those experts can also provide solutions. He expressed hope that the government will do something in this direction. The CJI said, "We will review this matter regularly. List it on Monday."
