'Police duty is the most challenging'
In his address, Amit Shah said that I have seen that the duty of police is the most challenging compared to other people serving the country. In any season and festival, police personnel are always deployed on duty to maintain law and order. Be it terrorism, crime, or controlling large crowds, police are always present for the safety of common people. The police of our country have always proved itself.
65 percent reduction in extremism
Amit Shah said that there has been a 65 percent reduction in terrorism, left-wing extremism, and other extremist incidents in the North-East. Peace is coming to the leftist extremism-affected states in the country, North East and Jammu and Kashmir. Paying tribute to the martyrs at the National Police Memorial, the Home Minister said that the Narendra Modi government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism and has made strict laws. Work has also been done towards creating the best anti-terrorism force in the world by setting up a Police Technology Mission to modernize the police.
Praising the NDRF, Amit Shah said that no matter how big a disaster is, when NDRF personnel reach there, people believe that there will be no problem now. Shah also mentioned the schemes being run for police welfare. Since the country's independence, 36250 policemen have sacrificed their lives while serving the country. Amit Shah paid tribute to all these martyred policemen on the occasion of Police Memorial Day.
Let us tell you that every year 21st October is celebrated as Police Memorial Day throughout the country. Police Memorial Day is organized to remember the sacrifice of 10 policemen who lost their lives in the fight with China while protecting their borders in the year 1959.
