The political atmosphere surrounding the West Bengal Assembly elections is steadily intensifying. While the record-breaking voter turnout in the first phase has given a new twist to the electoral contest, all political parties are now seen pouring their full energy into preparations for the second phase. Ahead of the second phase, scheduled for April 29, political activities have gathered momentum in the state capital, Kolkata. Amidst this, top BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to hold a press conference in Kolkata today—an event considered to be of immense significance from the perspective of electoral strategy.

Earlier, in a post on the social media platform 'X', Amit Shah lauded the voters for the massive turnout witnessed during the first phase. He stated that the people of West Bengal have demonstrated historic participation in this "grand festival of democracy," shattering all previous voting records. Shah also commended the role played by the Election Commission, noting that the entire process was conducted in a peaceful and secure manner—an achievement of great magnitude in the electoral history of Bengal.

Describing this as the dawn of a new era of good governance in the state, Shah asserted that this voter turnout serves as a clear indication of impending political change in Bengal. All eyes are now fixed on the press conference he is scheduled to hold in Kolkata, where the BJP's future electoral strategy and the direction for the upcoming phases are likely to be charted out.
