A major box office battle is set to unfold in March. Two major films will clash: Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 and Kannada superstar Yash's Toxic. Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has now spoken out on the matter, calling it tough competition.
Sanjay Gupta is known for films like Zinda, Kaante, and Shootout at Wadala.
People have high expectations for the film.
In an interview with Variety India, Sanjay described Dhurandhar as a great film and said that people have high expectations for its sequel. Sanjay said that the clash between the two films will prevent either of them from reaching their full potential.
He said, "I will watch both films; unfortunately, they are releasing simultaneously because they are eagerly awaited. But they will hurt each other's business."
Does it pay off at different times?
He recalled the clash between his film Kaabil and Shah Rukh Khan's Raees in 2017. He said, "When my film Kaabil was released, it clashed with Shah Rukh Khan's Raees. Both films would have done better business if they had been released at different times."
We don't have very rich people in our country, nor do they have the money to watch both films simultaneously. There are many who can't watch two films in one month. This is unnecessary, but the filmmakers probably have their reasons. Both films will perform well, but neither will reach its full potential. Therefore, it's unfortunate.
The Hindi trailer for Toxic was recently released, which has further increased the excitement. Fans are eagerly awaiting both films.
