Delhi Liquor Policy: Hearing today on the petition demanding regular testing of Kejriwal's sugar level, ED gave this answer

Posted on 19th Apr 2024 10:18 am by rohit kumar

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea to get his sugar level checked regularly and consult his regular doctor through video conference will be heard today. Earlier on Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed its reply.

Advocate Zuhaib Hussain, appearing for the ED, told the court on Thursday that jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was deliberately eating mangoes and sweets and taking tea with sugar to increase his blood sugar levels and This can be used as a basis for obtaining bail on medical grounds.

Hussain said Kejriwal is in the custody of the court. He is in custody because of our case. The cause for concern is that he was allowed to eat home-cooked food as he claimed to have high diabetes. But he is eating sugar with mangoes, sweets, and tea. This is a basis for preparing the basis for bail. Hussain said the details came to light when the agency wrote to Tihar Jail seeking information about Kejriwal's diet and the medicines he was taking.

Advocate Vivek Jain, appearing for Kejriwal, objected to ED's arguments and said that the investigating agency is making these allegations only for the media. Jain also said that he was withdrawing the existing application and would file a better application.

Kejriwal is currently lodged in Tihar jail in connection with a money laundering investigation related to the Delhi Excise Policy case. His lawyers had informed the Rouse Avenue court that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor's sugar level had fallen to 46 and was continuously fluctuating. The court today sought a report from Tihar Jail regarding Kejriwal's diet chart.

Kejriwal should be sent to jail in another state: Manoj Tiwari

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that Chief Minister Kejriwal should be sent to a jail where his government is not there. In jail, instead of a healthy diet, he is taking a diet that is harmful to the health of a diabetic patient. He is unlikely to get bail in the next few months so he is desperate to get out on medical bail. Tihar is under the Delhi government, so the Chief Minister is easily eating uncertified food items.

ED lied, conspiracy to kill Kejriwal: Atishi

Delhi government minister Atishi alleged that the Enforcement Directorate has lied in court regarding the diet of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that he is drinking tea with sugar and eating mangoes and sweets. This is completely false. Kejriwal is taking artificial sweeteners.

Atishi said that ED told the court that Kejriwal was eating bananas. Any doctor will tell you that diabetic patients are asked to keep bananas or any toffee or chocolate with them, as a drop in sugar levels can be life-threatening. ED said that Kejriwal is eating Aloo Puri. ED should fear God for lying so much. He ate puri only on the first day of Navratri.

Atishi said that the BJP is trying to harm Kejriwal's health through its wing ED. They are trying to stop Kejriwal from serving home-cooked food in jail. He said that once home food is stopped, it will not be known what and when Kejriwal is being fed in jail. He alleged that Kejriwal's sugar level has been more than 300 for the last few days, but Tihar Jail authorities have refused to give him insulin. A conspiracy is being hatched to kill Kejriwal by stopping the supply of home-cooked food to him.
