Snow and bitter cold in Northwest Europe, passengers stranded at airports.

Heavy snowfall and bitter cold are gripping several countries in Northwest Europe due to Storm Goretti, which originated in the Atlantic Ocean. This has made travel difficult for people. Around a thousand passengers were stranded overnight at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands after approximately 700 flights were canceled on Wednesday. The airport provided beds, blankets, towels, food, and water for the stranded passengers.

Dutch airline KLM had to use 100,000 liters of a special de-icing fluid to clear snow from its aircraft so that flights could take off. 100 flights were canceled from Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport and about 40 from Orly Airport.

In Paris, children and young people were seen skiing and sledding on the hills of Montmartre and near the Eiffel Tower. Train, bus, and road travel were also affected by snow and cold in Spain, Poland, Hungary, and the Balkan countries.
