The Gujarat team recovered from a bad start

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram won the toss and called Gujarat to bat. Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the third ball of the very first over, but after that Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan took charge. However, it cost Hyderabad dearly to miss the opportunity to run out of Sudarshan during this period. In the fourth over, Gill hit Fazalhaq Farooqui for four consecutive fours. Gujarat's score in Powerplay was 65 runs for one wicket. In the very next over, Gill completed his half-century in 22 balls, in which he hit nine fours.

He scored 47 runs in 36 balls. Shubman and Sudarshan shared a 147-run partnership for the second wicket.

In the very next over, Yash Dayal got Abhishek Sharma caught by Saha. After this, Shami dismissed Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram to reduce Hyderabad's score to 29/4. Although Heinrich Klaasen held one end, the batsmen were out at the other end. After Samad, Marco Jansen was also dismissed after scoring three runs.

Klaasen's half-century

After falling seven wickets for 59 runs, Heinrich Klaasen handled the innings along with Bhuvneshwar. Both made a half-century partnership and took the team's score beyond 100 runs. During this, Klaasen also completed his half-century in 35 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes, but it was not enough to achieve the target of 189 runs.

Heinrich Klaasen was also dismissed in the 17th over of the innings in an attempt to hit a six off Mohammed Shami. As soon as his wicket fell, the way for Gujarat's victory was cleared. After this Bhuvneshwar was also dismissed after scoring 27 runs. In the end, the Hyderabad team could only score 154 runs after losing nine wickets.
