If you are also going to get a new passport (Passport Seva portal Close) then this news is for you. The passport department portal will remain closed across the country from 8 pm on August 29 to the morning of September 2. If someone has already applied for a passport and got it between August 30 and September 2, then they will have to reschedule for some other date.

 

Why was the portal closed?

The passport department informed us that due to technical maintenance, work on the portal cannot be done for five days. Not only passport service centers, but also regional passport offices, police verification of applicants, and the Ministry of External Affairs will be affected.

 

The passport department official informed applicants who had taken online appointments during this period. They will be able to reschedule their appointment for any other date.

 

How many types of passports are there in India?

 

There are three types of passports in India

 

Blue cover passport: This is a common passport. Any citizen of the country can use it.

 

Maroon cover passport: This is a diplomatic passport. This passport can be used only by Indian government-authorized diplomats and government officials.

Grey cover passport: This is an official passport. It is issued to government employees working abroad.
