If someone has already applied for a passport and got it between August 30 and September 2, then they will have to reschedule for some other date.
Why was the portal closed?
The passport department informed us that due to technical maintenance, work on the portal cannot be done for five days. Not only passport service centers, but also regional passport offices, police verification of applicants, and the Ministry of External Affairs will be affected.
The passport department official informed applicants who had taken online appointments during this period. They will be able to reschedule their appointment for any other date.
