Minister Atishi will not be able to hoist the flag on 15 August in Delhi. The General Administration Department has not permitted Atishi to hoist the flag. Gopal Rai had sent a letter on the instructions of Kejriwal. The reply to this has come from the department. The General Administration Department of the Delhi Government said that Arvind Kejriwal can hoist the flag.

In response to the letter written to Delhi Minister Gopal Rai on the issue of hoisting the flag on August 15, the Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department has written that it is quite clear that the above communication (letter of the minister) does not fall under the category of permissible communication to be sent outside the jail. Any written or oral communication in violation of the rules mentioned above is not legally valid. Therefore, action cannot be taken on it.

 

The General Administration Department sought the convenience of the Chief Minister of Delhi for his availability for the Independence Day celebrations. However, the Chief Minister's Office has indicated his unavailability due to being in judicial custody. Therefore, the issue was brought to the notice of higher officials. The General Administration in collaboration with all the concerned departments is making all the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations at the Chhatrasal Stadium as per past practice.
