Kalki 2898 AD: 'The story will start from the Mahabharata period...', Nag Ashwin gives a big update on Prabha s's 'Kalki 2898 AD'

South superstar Prabhas's film 'Kalki 2898 AD' is one of the most awaited films of this year. Telugu filmmaker Nag Ashwin is shooting for 'Kalki 2898 AD', which stars Prabhas along with Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles. Recently Nag Ashwin attended an event, in which the filmmaker talked about the timeline of the film. He said that the film starts from the Mahabharata period.

 

Nag Ashwin told why he named the film 'Kalki 2898 AD'. He said, 'Our film starts from Mahabharata and ends in 2898. This is the title of the film. It is called 'Kalki 2898 AD'. It spans a distance of 6000 years in time. If we go back 6000 years from 2898 AD we will reach 3102 BC, when they say the last incarnation of Krishna took place.'

 

He further said, 'We are trying to create the world that exists there, imagining what it could be like. We will still keep it at the Indian level and our challenge is not to make it like 'Blade Runner' i.e. Hollywood science fiction. Along with this, Nag Ashwin also talked about the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the film industry and its effects.

 

'Kalki 2898 AD' is a science fiction film, based on Hindu mythology. The film is written and directed by Nag Ashwin. This film produced by Vyjayanti Movies is considered to be the most expensive film in India. The dialogues of the film have been written by Sai Madhav Burra. Composer Santosh Narayanan, cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic, and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao are part of the technical team.

 

Talking about the cast of the film, the science fiction film 'Kalki 2898 AD' directed by Nag Ashwin has Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and many other actors in important roles along with Prabhas. 'Kalki 2898 AD' will premiere in theaters on May 9, 2024. Talking about Prabhas' work front, apart from 'Kalki 2898 AD', he is also going to be seen in some other great films. Prabhas will be seen in the horror-comedy film directed by director Maruthi and 'Spirit' directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
