Kolkata Knight Riders team had entered the IPL auction with a purse of Rs 32.7 crore. It bought a total of 10 players, including a record bid of Rs 24.75 crore for Mitchell Starc. The team had released the maximum number of players. Now after the auction, the team has a total of 23 players, which includes eight foreigners.
Knight Riders needed fast bowlers and hence they bought Mitchell Starc for Rs 24.75 crore. In the end, he also bought fast bowler Gus Atkinson. They got a back-up spinner and a back-up wicketkeeper in the form of Mujeeb Ur Rahman and KS Bharat.
They trust Gurbaz a lot. However, KKR lacks experienced Indian fast bowlers. The team's batting depth also seems to be lacking. Ramandeep Singh recently scored 127 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at a strike rate of 222.80, but only time will tell how his performance will be in the IPL.
