KKR Full Squad: Despite getting Starc at a record price, KKR bought 10 players, see possibly playing 11

Kolkata Knight Riders team had entered the IPL auction with a purse of Rs 32.7 crore. It bought a total of 10 players, including a record bid of Rs 24.75 crore for Mitchell Starc. The team had released the maximum number of players. Now after the auction, the team has a total of 23 players, which includes eight foreigners.

Knight Riders needed fast bowlers and hence they bought Mitchell Starc for Rs 24.75 crore. In the end, he also bought fast bowler Gus Atkinson. They got a back-up spinner and a back-up wicketkeeper in the form of Mujeeb Ur Rahman and KS Bharat.

They trust Gurbaz a lot. However, KKR lacks experienced Indian fast bowlers. The team's batting depth also seems to be lacking. Ramandeep Singh recently scored 127 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at a strike rate of 222.80, but only time will tell how his performance will be in the IPL.

Retained players: Shreyas Iyer (captain), Nitish Rana (vice-captain), Rinku Singh, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Jason Roy, Sunil Narine, Suyyash Sharma, Anukul Roy, Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakravarthy.

Bought in the auction: KS Bharat (Rs 50 lakh), Chetan Sakariya (Rs 50 lakh), Mitchell Starc (Rs 24.75 crore), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (Rs 20 lakh), Srikar Bharat (Rs 50 lakh), Ramandeep Singh (Rs 20 lakh), Sherfane Rutherford (Rs 1.5 crore), Manish Pandey (Rs 50 lakh), Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Rs 2 crore), Gus Atkinson (Rs 1 crore), Shakib Hussain (Rs 20 lakh).

The whole team as per the role

Openers: Jason Roy, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Venkatesh Iyer, Angkrishna Raghuvanshi.

Middle order: Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, KS Bharat (wk), Manish Pandey, Sherfane Rutherford.
