More than one crore 60 lakh people took a dip in the Sangam till 12 o'clock in the morning.

 

Following the rules, the bathing sequence of 13 Akharas of Sanatan Dharma is also continuing in Amrit Snan. At the same time, Naga Sadhus also demonstrated the art of war during Amrit Snan. During this, lakhs of people are watching the martial arts performance of Naga Sadhu.

 

Mahanirvani Akhara took Amrit Snan first.

On Makar Sankranti, Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani took Amrit Snan first. Along with it, Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara took Amrit Snan. In the second place, Shri Taponidhi Panchayati Shri Niranjani Akhara and Shri Panchayati Akhara Anand took Amrit Snan.

 

Three Sannyasi Akharas will take Amrit Snan, which include Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara Shri Panch Dashnam Aawahan Akhara, and Shri Panchagni Akhara.

 

Devotees gathered to see the grand procession of Naga Sadhus

Naga Sadhus of Panchayati Nirvani Akhara took Amrit Snan in their royal form with spears, tridents, and swords. Sadhus and saints participated in the procession riding on horses and chariots, which spread devotion and spiritual energy in the entire area. The bhajan troupes accompanying them and the slogans of the devotees made the atmosphere more divine.

 

Devotees were running towards Ganga from midnight with bundles on their heads and bags on their sides. There was a rush of devotees in Nagvasuki temple and Sangam area from early morning. Elderly, women, and youth, all were seen moving towards Sangam full of faith carrying bundles on their heads. The devotion to bathing was such that people started taking a dip in the holy waters of Ganga from the night itself.

 

Strict security arrangements at every step, horse-mounted police marched.

The administration made tight arrangements for the safety of devotees in Mahakumbh city. Barricades were put up on every road and vehicles were thoroughly checked. The entire event remained peaceful and organized with the deployment of police and security forces at every step. DIG Kumbh Mela Vaibhav Krishna, SSP Rajesh Dwivedi along with the police team marched on foot in the fair area with horses and paved the way for the Akhada sadhus going for Amrit bath.

 

Chants of Har Har Mahadev and Jai Shri Ram resounded on the ghats.

A huge crowd of devotees was seen from all around for bathing in the Ganga around the Sangam. During this, everyone made the Sangam area resonate with the slogans of Har Har Mahadev and Jai Shri Ram.

 

From Monday evening itself, the wave of people started coming into Mahakumbh city, which continued till late night. Most of the devotees who took a dip on Monday on Paush Purnima also stopped to take an Amrit Snan.

On the eve of the Mahasnan of Makar Sankranti, the roads of Prayagraj city and Mahakumbh city had turned into a path of devotion from all directions. When a sea of ​​saints, devotees, and tourists from the country, and the world thronged, their steps were towards the ghats. A huge crowd had reached the 44 bathing ghats spread over about 12 km after midnight itself.

 

There was not even a small space left on the banks of the holy Triveni. -Amid the deafening chants of Jai Shri Ram, Jai Ganga Maiya, and Har Har Mahadev, some were running towards the Sangam with flags in their hands, while others were moving ahead with quick feet, carrying a dand-kamandal and beads.

 

Two and a half crore devotees can take a holy dip.

The fair administration estimates that more than two and a half crore devotees will take a holy dip in the Sangam on the first royal bathing festival. Devotees had already reached the ghats for Makar Sankranti bath on the Sangam bank.

 

Due to crowd management, vehicles were stopped six to seven km before the start of the festival, due to which the roads had turned into footpaths everywhere. People kept taking long strides towards the Sangam bank, carrying bundles on their heads, bags on their shoulders, and holding the hands of children and women in their hands. Devotees who had come from far and wide were waiting to take a bath on the straw spread on the 44 bathing ghats built on both banks between Phaphamau and Arail.

 

What to do on Sankranti

 

 

According to Acharya Vidyakant Pandey, Director of Parashar Jyotish Sansthan, one must donate after taking a bath on Makar Sankranti. In this, food should be given to a poor person. Also, blankets, khichdi, copper, and gold should be donated. Iron and urad should not be donated. Its donation is prohibited.
