Pakistan: Imran Khan's close and former Home Minister Sheikh Rashid arrested, TV anchor Imran Riaz also in custody

Sheikh Rashid Arrested Sheikh Rashid, a close aide of Pakistan's former PM Imran Khan and former Home Minister, has been arrested by the Islamabad Police. According to various Pak media reports, Awami Muslim League (AML) leader and PTI ally Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has been arrested by the police in the early hours today. According to the Pakistani channel Geo News, the arrest has been confirmed by his nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq. On the other hand, Pakistan's TV anchor Imran Riaz Khan (Imran Riaz khan arrested) has been arrested by the FIA.

 

400 policemen went to the house and arrested

According to the report of the Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Sheikh Rasheed has been arrested from his home in Islamabad. His nephew claimed that around 300 to 400 policemen allegedly ransacked the house while arresting him. According to Dawn, in a video aired by ARY News, Sheikh Rasheed said that he was taken to the Aabpara police station without any warrant. Rashid also made many allegations against the government. He said that the police wanted to kill me and my life was in danger. However, it was not clear on what charges Sheikh was arrested.

 

Imran Khan condemned

Meanwhile, Imran Khan condemned the arrest of his close aide and accused the interim Punjab government of being biased. Imran said that I have never seen such a government that takes such retaliatory action. He said that our country is on the verge of bankruptcy and the Sharif government is doing dirty politics.

 

Pakistani TV anchor Imran Riaz arrested

Pakistan's well-known TV anchor Imran Riaz Khan has been arrested by the FIA. He was taken into custody at the airport and taken to an undisclosed location. However, the reason for the arrest has not been revealed.
