Along with this, Dr. VK Paul, Health Member of NITI Aayog, said that studies show that people who have got the corona vaccine are 75-80 percent less likely to be hospitalized. The likelihood of such individuals needing oxygen support is about 8 percent and the risk of ICU admission among vaccinated individuals is only 6 percent.

 

Dr. VK Paul said that in rural areas, the seropositivity rate is 56 percent in people below 18 years of age and 63 percent in people above 18 years of age. The information suggests that the children were infected but it was very mild. There can be only isolated cases of infection in children. He said that the WHO and AIIMS survey shows that seropositivity is almost equal in persons below 18 years and above 18 years of age. The seropositivity rate is 67 percent and 59 percent in persons under 18 years of age, among persons above 18 years of age. In urban areas, it is 78 percent among persons below 18 years of age and 79 percent among persons above 18 years of age.

 

Active cases decreased by 114,000 in the last 3 days

 

Lav Agarwal, Joint Health Secretary, Union Health Ministry said that in the last 24 hours, 62,480 new cases of corona have been reported in the country. For the last 11 days, less than one lakh cases are being reported. The peak of corona cases has seen a decrease of 85 percent. The number of active cases has come down to 7,98,656 in the last 24 hours. The active cases have come down by 1,14,000 in the last 3 days. Now the recovery rate has increased to 96 percent. We are doing 18.4 lakh corona tests every day. He said that so far more than 22 crore people in the country have received the first dose of the corona vaccine and more than 5 crore second doses have been administered.

 

Children will not be affected much in the third wave of Corona

 

On the question of children being affected more in the third wave of the corona, Lav Aggarwal said that it cannot be true that children will be disproportionately affected in the third wave because the serosurvey shows that seropositivity is almost the same in all age groups. was.
