
Former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq has apologized after insulting actress Aishwarya Rai. Razzaq's statement was criticized. The former all-rounder said he was embarrassed and apologized. In a video posted on social media, Razzaq said his intention was not to hurt anyone's sentiments.
"I am very sorry for yesterday and I realize that I said very bad words," Razzaq said. I apologize to everyone, please forgive me.'' He said he originally wanted to use a different example, but took Aishwarya Rai's name due to a slip of the tongue.
What did Razzaq say?
Razzaq made such a statement in a program comparing PCB with Aishwarya, which embarrassed the cricket world. Razzaq had said, “I am talking about the intentions of the PCB here. When I was playing, I knew that my captain was Younis Khan, who had very good intentions. I learned confidence and courage from him. It is by the grace of God that I could perform well for Pakistan cricket. Nowadays there is a lot of talk about the intentions of the PCB and the intentions of the players. First of all, in Pakistan no player is policed, he is not promoted. Our intention here is not to police any player, but to develop the players. If your thinking is that I am from Aishwarya Rai... So first you have to set your intentions straight.”
Afridi expressed regret
Afridi, who was sitting with him, has now condemned Razzaq's statement while stating another news channel. Speaking to Samaa TV, Afridi said, “The program was going on and we were sitting on the stage. Razzaq said something there. I did not understand what Razzaq said. I was laughing just like that. I was thinking that he had a mike in his hand, so he had to say something or the other. Everyone there was laughing. When I came home, someone sent me the clip of Razzaq's statement in that program to find out what he (Razzaq) had said. When I listened carefully to what Razzaq had said (comment on Aishwarya). I started laughing like that on stage and I felt very strange. I will immediately message Razzaq to apologize to everyone. That was a very bad joke. This should not be a joke.
