The pace of corona in the country has started slowing down for the last two weeks. The health ministry said during a regular press briefing on Tuesday that while the rate of corona infection was 17.13 percent on May 3, it has now come down to 13.3 percent after 15 days. With this, the Ministry of Health stated that so far 1.8 percent people of the total population of the country have come in contact with this epidemic. That is, only 2 percent of people have been infected by the Corona epidemic so far.
Corona cases are increasing in these states
But, what is causing the biggest concern is that the pace of corona infection is still very fast in some states. According to the government, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Mizoram are witnessing a daily increase in cases of Covid-19. However, Joint Secretary of the Health Ministry Luv Agarwal said that it is a matter of relief that in 199 districts of the country, new cases of corona have been seen in the decline in the last 3 weeks.
Corona cases are decreasing in these states
However, in many states of the country, including the national capital, Delhi, there has been a significant decline in the new case of Corona. The states where there has been a decline in new cases of Covid-19 are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. During the last two weeks, Covid cases have come down in 18 out of 38 districts of Bihar. Cases have been reduced in 33 of 52 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Cases have been reported in 24 out of 36 districts of Maharashtra.
The Health Ministry said that there are only 8 states in the country where more than 10,000 cases are being reported daily. 75% of new cases are coming from only 10 states. Since February 2021, the number of tests has been increasing continuously. Covid testing has increased 2.5 times on average in the last 14 weeks.
The infection spread in India, but in terms of the total population, this figure is still less than other countries. In the US, 10.1% of the population was infected. Whereas only 1.8 percent of the population in India was affected by the infection.
