In the case of the suicide of engineer Atul Subhash in Bangalore, now the clarification of his wife Nikita Singhania has come to the fore. Nikita had lodged a police complaint against Atul in the year 2022, in which Atul and his family were accused of harassing her for dowry. Nikita also said in the complaint that her father died of shock due to the demand for dowry by her husband and in-laws. However, Atul has responded to all the allegations against him in his suicide note.

Wife accused of dowry harassment

In April 2022, Nikita filed a complaint of dowry harassment against Atul and his family in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. In this complaint, Atul, his parents, and his brother were also accused. Apart from dowry harassment, Nikita also accused Atul of assaulting and intimidating her. According to the news agency PTI, Nikita said that she was married to Atul on 26 April 2019, but her husband and in-laws were unhappy with the dowry and demanded Rs 10 lakh more.

Wife Nikita said these things.

Nikita alleged that 'she was harassed for a dowry when she told her parents about it, they said that everything would be fine and she should stay in her in-laws' house, but there was no change in the behavior of my husband and in-laws.' Nikita claims that Atul used to beat her after drinking alcohol and transferred all her salary to his bank account.'

The wife's uncle clarified.

Wife Nikita, her mother Nisha, brother Anurag, and uncle Sushil Singhania have been accused in the case of inciting Atul Subhash to commit suicide. A police team has also been sent to Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh, which will interrogate Nikita and her family members. On the allegations, Uncle Sushil said 'I came to know from media reports that my name is also in the FIR, but I have nothing to do with it. The hearing of the divorce case has been going on for the last three years and now all this has happened suddenly. Our family is not guilty and the court will give its verdict.' Sushil Singhania said that 'Subhash's allegations are baseless. Nikita is not here and when she comes, she will answer all the questions. I am her uncle, but I do not know much about the case.'

Atul has answered the allegations of his wife in the suicide note.

Atul had answered Nikita's allegations in his suicide note itself. On the allegations of beating his wife, Atul wrote that if I had beaten her, then why did she not present any proof or picture of it in court to date? Atul wrote 'I am a strong person, if I had beaten her, then some of her bones would have broken or there would have been a mark of injury. Did she show any picture or is there any witness to this?'

On the allegations of the dowry of 10 lakhs, Atul wrote 'We demanded dowry of 10 lakhs. This is the most laughable allegation. My wife has claimed that when she left me, I used to earn 40 lakhs annually and later I started earning 80 lakhs annually. In such a situation, will a person who is earning 40-80 lakhs, demand 10 lakhs and for this, his wife and child should leave him?'

On the death of Nikita's father, Atul wrote that 'Nikita herself has admitted that her father was suffering from diabetes and heart diseases for many years and the doctors had given him only a few months. In such a situation, the talk of his death due to me and my family demanding dowry of 10 lakhs is like a Bollywood story.'
