For the past few days, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the biopic of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. Actor Rajkummar Rao will be seen playing the cricketer.

These legends will be seen in Sourav Ganguly's biopic

Preparations for the biopic of Sourav Ganguly, one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket team, are progressing at a rapid pace. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the film will star actor Rajkummar Rao as Sourav Ganguly. Rajkummar has already begun preparations for the film. A few days ago, reports surfaced that he had refused to use prosthetic makeup to resemble Sourav in front of the camera.

 

 

Now, Bengali actress Aparajita Adhya has joined the cast of the film, alongside actors Boman Irani and Gajraj Rao. According to reports, Boman will play Sourav's father, Chandi Ganguly, and Aparajita will play Sourav's mother. Boman is already a cricket enthusiast. Gajraj Rao has been cast in the film as former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya.

 

 

Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin on March 16th. Prior to this, Rajkumar will spend a few days at Sourav's home to understand his mannerisms and daily routine. Rajkumar will also be seen in the upcoming biopic of public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.

 

 

When will the sports drama release?

Many biopics on Indian cricketers have been made in Hindi cinema, including those of legends like MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev. Now, everyone is eagerly awaiting the release of Sourav Ganguly's biopic. If we look at its release date, it can be released on the big screen in 2028.
