US Russia Talk: Top US Army officer talks to Russia's Chief of General Staff, discusses security-related issues

Top General of the US Army Mark Milley has a telephone conversation with Russia's Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov. The US Army has given this information on Thursday. A spokesman for Milley, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the military leaders discussed a range of security-related issues and agreed to keep the lines of communication open.

 

The spokesperson also said that the specific details of their conversation will be kept private as per the previous exercise. Last week, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with his Russian counterpart. The talks between the two top officials were the first since Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine in February.

Macron warns about Ukraine war

 

On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron has warned about the Ukraine war. While hosting the President of Moldova, he expressed concern that the war could spread to neighboring countries of Ukraine.

 

Macron said on Thursday that France was particularly vigilant about the security situation in the region. He praised Moldova's help for refugees from Ukraine. Macron urged European leaders to "expeditiously pursue" Moldova's application to join the European Union.

 

Russia and Ukraine are about to go to war in three months

 

It is worth mentioning that Russia and Ukraine are going to be in three months of the war. The war between the two countries has caused great devastation. Meanwhile, Moscow claimed on Thursday that 1,730 Ukrainian fighters had surrendered in Maripol in three days, including 771 in the past 24 hours. The outcome of the bloody battle between Russia and Ukraine remains publicly unresolved.
