A sad news related to Odia cinema has come to light. Veteran actor Uttam Mohanty has said goodbye to the world. The information about the actor's death at the age of 66 has shocked the fans. On the evening of 27 February, he breathed his last in a hospital in Delhi during treatment. Mohanty's nephew has also confirmed his death.

 

People are shocked by the actor's sudden departure from the world and fans are paying tribute to him on social media. According to a report by news agency ANI, his family has informed that the 66-year-old actor was brought to Delhi from Bhubaneswar on February 8. He had been battling a serious liver-related disease for a long time.

CM Mohan Charan Majhi expressed grief.

 

Everyone is mourning the death of the popular actor. Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi has also posted paying tribute to the actor. In this, he wrote, 'The death of Odisha's famous actor Uttam Mohanty is very sad. The biggest loss of his departure is to the Odia film industry. However, his contribution will live in the hearts of the people forever. I pray for the peace of his soul and also express my deepest condolences to the family.'

 

The actor will be cremated with state honors.

The Chief Minister of Odisha has also announced that Uttam Mohanty will be cremated with state honors. The actor's fans are unable to believe the information about his death. Some people are also expressing surprise on social media.

 

Uttam Mohanty's films

Talking about the film journey of veteran actor Uttam Mohanty, he started his career in the year 1977 with the Odia film Abhimaan. He has done praiseworthy work in excellent movies like Nijhum Ratir Sathi (1979), Phula Chandana (1982) and Danda Balunga (1984).

 

Let us tell you that the actor has worked in about 130 Odia films. Not only this, his list of works includes 30 Bengali films and a Hindi film Naya Zahar. Apart from this, the actor was also seen in some popular TV serials.

 

The actor has been given these awards.

 

For his excellent work in the film world, he was given the prestigious Jaydev Award in the year 1999. After this, Uttam Mohanty was also awarded the Odisha Living Legend Award in 2012. Along with this, he has been honored with the Odisha State Film Award many times.
