
It is extremely cold in many parts of North India. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dense to very dense fog conditions are likely to continue over North India during the next 4-5 days. Meanwhile, Delhi Airport issued an advisory amid foggy conditions, advising passengers to contact airlines before traveling.
Let us tell you that due to bad weather in Delhi, passengers are facing problems due to delays in many flights. Today, due to the cold wave continuing in Delhi, people are seen sitting near bonfires to keep themselves warm.
30 trains running late
A total of five flights were diverted at Delhi airport on Monday morning due to bad weather. Even today, due to dense fog in Delhi, travel-related problems have increased, 30 trains coming to Delhi from different parts of the country are running late. The condition of flights also remains the same. Airport officials said 30 flights were delayed and 17 were canceled due to weather conditions.
100-meter visibility was recorded at Palam airport at 7 pm. Whereas, 50-meter visibility was recorded at Safdarjung Airport at 7 am and 7:30 pm.
Where will there be fog?
Cold-day to severe cold-day conditions are likely to continue over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh on January 15 and 16. According to IMD, dense to very dense fog is likely to prevail over Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh, and many parts of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on January 15-16 for a few hours in the night/morning. Apart from this, there will be fog in the morning in isolated areas of Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland.
Rain and snowfall will also continue
Northeast monsoon rains have stopped over Kerala-Mahe, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu-Puducherry-Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and adjoining areas of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam since January 14. Western disturbances are likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from today i.e. 16th January. Under its influence, light rain/snowfall is likely at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on January 16 and 17.
