Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting is counted among the legend batsmen of the world, in his time when he used to take the field, the bowlers of the opposition team used to tremble with him. His career as a captain was also brilliant, under his captaincy the Kangaroo team won the ODI World Cup twice in a row. His records testify to his dominance in world cricket. But now some of his records are becoming a punishment for two great players of India. Yes, whenever any of his records come in the way of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli, the penalty is imposed, and both the players miss to break the record. This has happened not once but four times, let us tell you about it today-

Virat Kohli is in the third position with 70 centuries in the list of most centuries in international cricket. Ricky Ponting is present on him with 71 centuries. Kohli needs only one century to match Ponting but his career has been dry for the last 30 months. In this list, Sachin Tendulkar, who is called the God of Cricket, tops the list with 100 centuries.

Apart from Kohli, Ponting has also become a reward for Rohit's centuries. Rohit Sharma is at the fourth position in the list of players who have scored the most centuries in ODI cricket with 29 centuries. Ricky Ponting is present in him with 30 centuries. After reaching close to Ponting's record, Rohit has not scored an ODI century in the last 18 months. Sachin Tendulkar (49) is first and Virat Kohli (43) is second in terms of scoring the most centuries in ODIs.

Ricky Ponting holds the world record for winning most Man of the Match awards as a captain. He had achieved this feat 28 times during his tenure, while Virat Kohli had won this award 27 times under his captaincy. Kohli came close to Ponting's record but he could not break his record. Now Kohli has relinquished the captaincy from all formats.

- And now Rohit Sharma misses the record for most consecutive match wins in international cricket. This record was set by Ricky Ponting in 2003 by won 20 consecutive matches. Rohit Sharma managed to win 19 matches without losing Team India under his captaincy, but after this, due to Ponting's penance, India had to face defeat in the third T20 against England and Rohit's winning streak came to an end.
