The country has got the second indigenous anti-corona vaccine. Following the recommendation from the Government Expert Committee, DCGI has given emergency approval for the use of Zydus Cadila's corona vaccine ZyCoV-D. This is the second indigenous vaccine after Covaxin. It can be given to people above 12 years. This vaccine will be given in three doses.
The special thing is that at present, where the presence of RNA vaccine is highest in the world, this vaccine of Zydus Cadila is the world's first DNA-based vaccine. An expert committee of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) on Covid-19 considered Zydus Cadila's application for approval of Zycov-D on Thursday. It then recommended the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) allow it for emergency use.
DCGI approved on Friday. Ahmedabad-based pharmaceutical major Zydus Cadila had on July 1 sought approval from DCGI for emergency use of its vaccine Joycov-D.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted on this occasion and said, 'ZayCov-D is the sixth vaccine approved in the country and the second indigenous vaccine. It will fulfill the vision of self-reliant India and Make in India.
Trial claim at 50 centers
Zydus Cadila has claimed that it has conducted the largest trial of the vaccine in India. The vaccine was tested at more than 50 centers. So far, Serum Institute's Covishield, Bharat Biotech's Covaxin, Russia's Sputnik-V, America's Moderna and Johnson & Johnson's vaccine have been approved. Covaxin developed by Bharat Biotech is the country's first indigenous vaccine.
There are many specialties of this vaccine
In many respects, it is considered to be the most special. The most important thing about the Xycov-D vaccine is that it will be the world's first DNA plasmid vaccine. There will be a need to give three doses of Zykov-D apart from the rest of the corona vaccines being administered in the country.
Children will get relief without a needle
Zycov-D will be given without a needle. With this, children above 12 years of age can easily install it. It will be given through an injector. The pain will be negligible. It will apply to 12-18-year-olds as well as elders. Currently, only people above 18 years of age were being vaccinated in the country. Teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18 can now be vaccinated with Jaycov-D. Zydus Cadila is preparing to make 10 crores to 12 crore doses in a year. From when this vaccine will be available in the country, it has not been told yet. No information has been given regarding the price either.
