Voting is going on in the first phase of 71 seats in Bihar today. By 1 pm 33% of voting has been done. In these 71 seats, voting was 55.11% in 2015 and 50.67% in 2010.

 

On the other hand, more than 3,000 people boycotted the elections in Balgudar of Lakhisarai and Tarari of Bhojpur. The voters here are angry at the lack of roads and schools in their area.

Voting started in Bihar at 7 am. Thermal guns were seen at several booths to measure corona protection measures, sanitizer, and temperature. In many places, however, social distancing was missing. Even Union Minister Giriraj Singh, who came to cast his vote in Lakhisarai, wore a mask, but he was holding a mask of the presiding officer holding the vote.

Two IEDs were found at Baluganj in Aurangabad before the voting began. The CRPF defused this IED found during the search operation. These areas are affected by Naxalites. Earlier on Tuesday, two IEDs were found at Imamganj in Gaya. It was also defused by CRPF.

 

Polling is currently disrupted due to EVM malfunction at Booth-286 of Bihiyan village of Ara's Shahpur Assembly, Booth-231 of Munger Assembly 165, Nauvagarhi Mahadevpur Government Bungalow. Button was found opposite the RJD candidate's election symbol in EVM in Nauvagadhi, Munger.

The women created a ruckus at the booth at Swarajpuri Road in the Gaya Urban Assembly constituency. He alleged that some people were pressurizing them to vote for the BJP. After this, the women got entangled with the polling workers present there. BJP leader and State Agriculture Minister Dr. Prem Kumar is the candidate from the Gaya Urban Assembly constituency. In Paliganj in Patna district and Hasanganj in Nawada, people boycotted the vote. These people were angry about the road problem in their area. At the same time, villagers boycotted voting at booths 255 and 256 of Hasanganj in Nawada district. There was not a single vote here for 2 hours.

 

Gloves are being thrown in the open at Suryanath High School Osan Rohtas of Karakat Assembly. On inquiry, it was found that Dustbin was not given here. Neither thermal screening is being done at the polling station of Shahpur nor voters are following social distancing.

 

People boycotted voting in Lakhisarai's Balgudar. There are a total of 1414 voters including booth-115 and 115A, but so far there has not been a single vote. Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha came to persuade people to vote, but they escaped in the face of the anger of the people. Magistrate Bhola Mandal has so far confirmed not to cast a single vote.

 

2300 people from Kosiyar village of Tarari assembly of Bhojpur boycotted voting for non-construction of roads and schools.

 

A case will be filed against Agriculture Minister and BJP leader Prem Kumar. The Election Commission has directed Gaya DM to file a case. Prem Kumar came to vote by putting on a mask of party symbol (Lotus). This is a violation of the code of conduct.

 

RJD candidate Saroj Yadav claimed to have attacked booth number 115 of Ara. He says that he saved his life by running away somehow. However, the administration has not confirmed this. It is being told that people first opposed Saroj. After this, some people from the crowd started throwing stones.

 

Saroj Yadav is an MLA from Barbara in Bhojpur. This time also he is an RJD candidate from Barhara. There will be voting on 4 seats from 7 am to 3 pm. At the same time, votes will be cast in 26 seats till 4 pm, in 5 seats till 5 pm, in the remaining 36 seats by 6 pm.

Maximum 27 candidates went to Gaya Town and a minimum of 5 candidates to Katoria seat.

 

RJD is contesting on 42 seats, LJP on 41, and RLSP on 40 seats. BJP is in the fray on 29 and its ally JDU 35. There are Congress candidates in 22 seats.

 

31 thousand 371 polling stations have been built. It will have 31 thousand 371 control units and VVPAT use. 41 thousand 689 EVMs will be used.

 

Hisua is the largest assembly in terms of voters. There are 3.76 lakh voters here. Among them, 1.96 lakh are male, 1.80 lakh are female and 19 are transgender.

 

Barbigha is the smallest assembly constituency for voters. There are 2.25 lakh voters here. These include 1.17 lakh males, 1.08 lakh females.
