US to process record visa for Indians

Earlier, the US Embassy had announced a record visa processing for Indians this year. The embassy seeks to reduce the backlog in first-time B1 and B2 tourist and business travel visas. Under this, 2.5 lakh B1/B2 visa appointments have been booked across India. Also, officials from embassies around the world and especially from Washington DC have been called for interviews for first-time B1/B2 visas.

What are H-1B and L-1B visas?

H-1B visa is usually issued to those people who are associated with a particular profession (such as IT professional, architecture, health professional, etc.). Only professionals who have job offers can get this visa. It depends on the employer. That is, if the employer removes the job and does not offer another employer, then the visa will expire.

L-1A and L-1B visas are available for temporary intracompany transferees who work in managerial positions or have specialized knowledge. Under the L-1B visa, companies are allowed to send employees to the US for at least one year. It is given to such people who do not go there to live permanently.
