India is their priority in this. If an Indian is trying to take an appointment for a US visa, efforts are being made to keep his wait time to a minimum.
Julie Stuft, Assistant Secretary for US Visa Services, said that we have issued 36% more visas to Indians than before the pandemic. Also, he told that from this year America is going to start revalidation of domestic visas.
You will not have to return to your country for visa renewal.
Actually, till 2004, the H-1B visa was renewed in America only, but since 2004, migrant workers working in America have had to return to their country to renew it. Now under this new pilot project, H-1B visas will be renewed in America only. That is, any migrant worker will not have to go to his country to get it renewed.
US to process record visa for Indians
Earlier, the US Embassy had announced a record visa processing for Indians this year. The embassy seeks to reduce the backlog in first-time B1 and B2 tourist and business travel visas. Under this, 2.5 lakh B1/B2 visa appointments have been booked across India. Also, officials from embassies around the world and especially from Washington DC have been called for interviews for first-time B1/B2 visas.
What are H-1B and L-1B visas?
H-1B visa is usually issued to those people who are associated with a particular profession (such as IT professional, architecture, health professional, etc.). Only professionals who have job offers can get this visa. It depends on the employer. That is, if the employer removes the job and does not offer another employer, then the visa will expire.
L-1A and L-1B visas are available for temporary intracompany transferees who work in managerial positions or have specialized knowledge. Under the L-1B visa, companies are allowed to send employees to the US for at least one year. It is given to such people who do not go there to live permanently.
