China: China again adopts strict Corona policy, makes PCR test mandatory for people coming from South Korea

Corona continues to wreak havoc in China. Even though the speed of Corona has stopped in many countries of the world. But it continues unabated in China. China on Wednesday again made the Covid-19 test mandatory for people arriving from South Korea. A notice was sent to airlines operating between the two countries on Tuesday, Yonhap news agency cited officials and sources as saying.

 

PCR is mandatory for people coming from South Korea

In the notice, Chinese aviation authorities said that all passengers boarding direct flights from South Korea to China would be subjected to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests from Wednesday. The move comes after Seoul imposed restrictions on travelers from China last month due to the rapid spread of new Covid cases in the neighboring country.

Earlier China had abolished the PCR test

Yonhap News Agency quoted officials and sources as saying that those found positive after the PCR test would have to be quarantined or hospitalized. However, even before this, China had taken this step. But then China ended mandatory PCR tests on all international arrivals. But now it has been made mandatory once again.

 

Seoul expressed concern over China's discriminatory policy

Seoul's embassy in Beijing said it was informed of the new rule by the Chinese government only for travelers from South Korea. A Seoul Foreign Ministry official has expressed concern over China's "discriminatory" entry restrictions. He said that China should not restrict the entry of people on its border for reasons other than epidemic response measures.
