Gujarat Titans captain Shubhman Gill was fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate during the match against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday. After the match, Shubman said- When we were batting, CSK defeated us with their strategy. His performance was brilliant. We were backing ourselves to get a good score in the powerplay. Once we couldn't do that, we were playing to get the run rate up. It was unfortunate for us. On this wicket, we were expecting to chase 190-200. I think this is a very good lesson for the bowlers. I think it is better to have a match like this at the beginning of the tournament rather than in the middle or late. We had always expected to chase 190-200. It was a really good wicket. It felt like we let ourselves down while batting.
Regarding his captaincy, Shubman said- I am learning a lot of new things. I'm looking forward to new experiences and different things. It is exciting to captain a team like Gujarat Titans. We have made the finals in the last few years, so it is very exciting.
