Gujarat Titans captain Shubhman Gill admitted that Chennai Super Kings performed well against his team. Gill said after the match, “CSK defeated us in every way. When we were batting, his execution was spot on. We tried hard to get a respectable score in the powerplay, but then our innings faltered. This is unfortunate for us.

He further said, "I think it is good that this match took place at the beginning of the tournament. We had expected that 190-200 runs would be scored. This was a very good pitch. It felt like we let ourselves down with the bat.
