In the early period of the corona epidemic, few medicines were being mentioned all over the world. One of these drugs was hydroxychloroquine. This anti-malarial drug suddenly came into the limelight when then US President Donald Trump said it was effective in the treatment of corona. Subsequently, this drug was used fiercely in the treatment of corona. The US had imported this medicine from India in large quantities, but now the World Health Organization has said that the drug should not be used.

The WHO expert panel said in a statement released on Tuesday that this drug did not affect the treatment of corona. Neither the deaths due to corona are stopped by this drug nor the number of hospitalized people is decreasing, but the risk of adverse effects from this drug is increased.
