IND vs ENG: India has not lost a test match in Ranchi yet, England will play for the first time in Dhoni's city, know record

The fourth match of the five-Test series between India and England will be played in Ranchi. Both teams will face each other from February 23 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. England started the series with a bang by winning the Test in Hyderabad. After that Rohit Sharma's team made a brilliant comeback. It took a 2-1 lead in the series by winning the matches played in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot.

 

 

India will be eyeing an unassailable lead in Ranchi. At the same time, the England team will hope for a win or a draw to stay in the series. This is the hometown of the great Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Team India has not lost a single test here till now. At the same time, England will play the longest format of cricket in Dhoni's city for the first time.

The first test was held here in 2017

So far two test matches have been played in Ranchi. The first match here was played between India and Australia in 2017. That match ended in a draw. Whereas, the second match was held two years later in 2019. Then Team India defeated South Africa. India will look to maintain its record of never losing on this ground.

Jadeja's magic worked against Australia

In 2017, when the teams of India and Australia faced each other in Ranchi, the magic of Ravindra Jadeja was seen. He took five wickets in the first innings against the Kangaroo team. After that, he scored an unbeaten 54 runs in the first innings for India. Not only this, Jadeja also bowled lethally in the second innings and took four wickets. At the same time, Ravichandran Ashwin took one wicket each in both innings. Ashwin has three runs in his name here. Only these two members of the team that played in 2017 are part of the current Indian team.

 

Rohit Sharma has scored a double-century in Ranchi

In 2019, when India came against South Africa on this ground, Rohit Sharma had scored a double century. He had scored 212 runs in the first innings. Jadeja scored 51 and Ashwin scored 14 runs. In bowling, Jadeja took two wickets in the first innings. He had a success in the second innings. Ashwin did not get success in the first innings. At the same time, he took one wicket in the second innings. India won the match by an innings and 202 runs.

 

Most runs in Rohit's name, Jadeja hit in bowling

Rohit Sharma is the batsman who scored the most runs in Ranchi with 212 runs. After him, Cheteshwar Pujara is in second place. He has scored 202 runs in two matches. Jadeja has scored 105 runs in two matches. He is in seventh place in terms of scoring most runs on this ground. Jadeja is number 1 in bowling. He has taken 12 wickets in two matches. Ashwin has taken three wickets in as many matches.
