IND vs ENG Playing 11: Two Indian players can debut in Rajkot, Jadeja is fit, and knows possible playing-11

Posted on 14th Feb 2024 10:59 am by rohit kumar

The third match of the five-Test series between India and England will be played in Rajkot from Thursday (February 15). Team India is eyeing a 2-1 lead in the series. He made a brilliant comeback by winning the second test played in Visakhapatnam. England won the first test in Hyderabad. India can make changes in the playing 11 for this match. For this, the names of two players are discussed the most. Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel and middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan may get a chance to debut.

The Indian team, which is struggling with the unavailability of key cricketers, can go with Mumbai's Sarfaraz and Uttar Pradesh's Dhruv Jurel. The hopes of both the cricketers of making their Test debut got strengthened on Tuesday when both of them not only tried their hands at fielding and wicket-keeping in the practice session but also batted in the nets for a long time. If Kuldeep Yadav is to be believed, Ravindra Jadeja can feature in the third test. Jadeja batted for a long time on Tuesday. Kuldeep said about Jadeja that he is doing well. He also took part in a practice session on Monday. I think he is available for the third test. After Jadeja joins the team, it remains to be seen who among Kuldeep and Akshar will get a chance in the team.

Shubman Gill did not practice

Shubhman Gill, who scored a century in Visakhapatnam, did not participate in the optional practice session on Tuesday. His finger was injured during the second test. He did not even field during England's second innings. However, his injury was not said to be serious. Due to Shreyas being out of the team and Rahul being injured, the doors of Test have opened for Sarfaraz Khan, who has scored a lot of runs in the Ranji Trophy.

Jurel, Patidar and Sarfaraz shed sweat

Agra's Jurel's claim to be in the team is strong because he is more skilled in batting than KS Bharat. In such a situation, Rajkot is expected to rely on Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz, and Dhruv Jurel of Madhya Pradesh, who made their debut in Visakhapatnam, in the middle order. All three have only one Test experience. The situation may improve if Jadeja plays. If Jadeja does not play and Akshar gets a chance, the middle order will be completely inexperienced. On Tuesday, Patidar practiced in the gully and Sarfaraz in the first slip area, while Jurel took several difficult catches.

Dravid, and Rohit inspected the pitch

Rohit Sharma also joined the practice session after inspecting the pitch with coach Rahul Dravid. Bharat practiced alone. The magic of the spinners has been seen on the pitch here. Ashwin is the highest wicket-taker bowler in Rajkot. At the same time, Ravindra Jadeja is in second place. In such a situation, it remains to be seen what combination the Indian team will field with.

Probably playing-11 of both teams

India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel/KS Bharat (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.

England: Jack Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Ben Foakes (wk), Tom Hartley, James Anderson, Shoaib Bashir, Rehan Ahmed/Mark Wood.
