A video is going viral on social media in which Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada is allegedly seen smoking a cigarette. It has not yet been confirmed exactly where he was smoking, but the viral clip has sparked a debate across the internet. It also remains unclear whether the video is authentic or if it has been doctored.

Has been unable to independently verify the authenticity of the footage. It is widely believed that the video was filmed at the Gujarat Titans' team hotel; however, the exact location has not been identified, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the clip.

Was Kagiso Rabada Smoking?

Kagiso Rabada is a renowned South African fast bowler and a key player for the Gujarat Titans in the current season. Rabada currently sits at the 7th spot in the race for the Purple Cap, having claimed 10 wickets in 6 matches. The right-arm pacer has delivered an impressive bowling performance, maintaining an average of 22 and an economy rate of 9.7—even though he proved to be somewhat expensive in a few matches.

Banned Last Season

Following the emergence of this video, discussions regarding Rabada's past disciplinary record have resurfaced. During the previous IPL season, he was handed a one-month ban by the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport. He had to leave the tournament midway to serve his suspension before eventually returning to the team. However, the specific details of the doping case were never made public, which continued to fuel speculation.

In the current season, the Gujarat Titans are positioned at the 6th spot on the IPL points table with 3 wins and are striving hard to secure a place in the playoffs. Gujarat's next match is scheduled for April 24 against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the team will take the field with the firm intention of regaining its momentum.

Moreover, prior to the Rabada incident, a similar case surfaced at the beginning of this season, when a viral video allegedly showed Yuzvendra Chahal smoking a cigarette while driving. That video, too, could not be authenticated; however, fans on social media criticized this behavior.
