It has not yet been confirmed exactly where he was smoking, but the viral clip has sparked a debate across the internet. It also remains unclear whether the video is authentic or if it has been doctored.

Following the emergence of this video, discussions regarding Rabada's past disciplinary record have resurfaced. During the previous IPL season, he was handed a one-month ban by the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport. He had to leave the tournament midway to serve his suspension before eventually returning to the team.
