Pant vs Samson: Kiwi veteran became crazy about Samson, and said - Pant's average is 35 and Sanju's 60, he also deserves a chance

After the retirement of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, there is a debate going on about the right wicketkeeper in the Indian team. After Dhoni in the Test, Saha and Pant played this role very well. Now Rishabh Pant has cemented his place as a wicket-keeper batsman in India's Test team, but his performance in ODIs and T20s has not been anything special. Pant is failing especially in T20. In such a situation, there is talk of giving a chance to Sanju Samson in his place.

Samson has done well in IPL and domestic cricket. He is also often a part of the Indian team, but he has not got opportunities to play matches continuously. Samson has done well in all the opportunities he has got. After this, his fans are constantly talking about giving him a chance on social media. Samson got a chance to play in the first ODI against New Zealand and shared a good partnership with Shreyas Iyer, but he was dropped from the team in the very next match as Deepak Hooda had to be given a chance to create balance.

Recently, some fans of Sanju reached the FIFA World Cup with their posters. In this poster, Samson was seen in the Rajasthan Royals jersey. It was also written that beyond the match, the player, we support Samson. Now former New Zealand fast bowler Simone Doull also supported Samson.

Simon said in a conversation with a sports website, "Rishabh Pant's record is a good sample. He has played only 30 games and averages only 35, the strike rate is good. But Sanju averages 60 in 11 matches. And I don't think he is any less as a wicketkeeper. I think he also deserves an opportunity."

He further added "The Rishabh Pant vs Sanju Samson debate is interesting to me. There is a lot of talk about Rishabh Pant, and he is the future. But in limited-overs formats, he hasn't done that. Incredible Test player, and he is Brilliant as a wicketkeeper-batsman in Tests, no problem with that? But is he the best wicketkeeper-batsman in limited overs? I'm not sure."

Samson has done well in ODIs, scoring an unbeaten 86 against South Africa in Lucknow followed by a half-century against the West Indies. Meanwhile, Pant's record in Test matches is excellent. He has scored centuries in India, Australia, England, and South Africa, including a classic 89 at the Gabba and a brilliant 97 at Sydney. He also scored a century against England in ODIs, but this has been his only good innings for India in limited-overs cricket.

In ODIs and T20s, Pant has scored 1842 runs in 95 matches with eight fifties and one century. Meanwhile, Samson has played very few matches as compared to Pant. He has scored 626 runs in 27 matches, but his average in ODIs is much higher than that of Rishabh. Pant averages 35 in ODIs, while Samson averages 66.
