FIFA WC 2022: Switzerland's game plan overshadowed Cameroon, defeated 1-0 in a thrilling match

FIFA WC 2022 Qatar: In the FIFA World Cup 2022, Switzerland made a winning start by defeating Cameroon 1-0. In the first half, both the teams were on par, but in the second half, Switzerland's game was a bit better and they won their name. In the first 15 minutes of the match, Cameroon's team looked more attacking, but then their game slowed down a bit. Jordan Shaqiri has become only the second Swiss player to play in four World Cups.

 

No goals were scored in the first half

 

In the 10th minute of the match, Brian Byemu of Cameroon had a great shot on Martin Hongla's assist, but it was saved. In the next moment, another attack came from Cameroon, but it was also saved. In the 26th minute, Cameroon's team again came close to scoring, but this time also their attack was saved. The Swiss team found themselves close to the goal for the first time in the 40th minute, but they too were unable to score. No team could score a goal in the first half.

 

Switzerland scored the winning goal in the second half

 

Switzerland took the lead in the third minute of the second half. Briel Embolo gave his team the lead by scoring an excellent goal with the assist of Jordan Shaqiri. Two minutes later, Cameron responded brilliantly, but his header from the six-yard was saved. Cameroon continued to attack, but could not find the goal. In the 66th minute, the Swiss team made a strong attack, but the Cameroonian goalkeeper saved brilliantly to avoid a certain goal. The Swiss team also had a good chance to score on the corner kick, but the Cameroonian defenders avoided it by showing activism.

 

Cameroon fought continuously, but could not equalize the score. In extra time, the Swiss team made another excellent attack, but the Cameroonian defender, by swinging his body, prevented them from getting the second goal.
